Activity Director

Hillcrest Health and Living is currently seeking a Director of Recreation to join our team at Hillcrest Millard.

The Recreation Director is responsible for developing, organizing and directing the Therapeutic Recreation programs to ensure the patients' needs are being met.

Pay: Starting at $20.50 per hour based upon experience, certifications and education.

What are my responsibilities?

  • Develop, plan and direct the Therapeutic Recreation programs to ensure the patient/resident receives all necessary services to help them maintain their highest level of functioning while offering programs related to their leisure interest.
  • Demonstrates ability to critically think, plan, organize and problem solve needs of the department and takes initiative to implement objectives resulting in favorable outcomes.
  • Responsible for the total fiscal management of the department and will manage resources available to meet or exceed budgeted outcomes.
  • Participates and leads meetings by providing input and being prepared as required.
  • Ensures the Therapeutic Recreation section of the MDS is completed accurately and timely.

What do I need to be considered?

  • Completion of NNFA Activity Director Training program required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation preferred.
  • At least two years' experienced in a supervisory position in a long term care setting or other healthcare setting.
  • At least two years' experience in performing recreational duties in a long term care setting or other healthcare setting.
